Sheriff's Court Services
About
The Sheriff's Court Services Division serves as an officer of the court. Our office receives, serves, and executes all civil processes and orders that are accepted for service in the manner prescribed by law.
The law requires that any civil process brought to the Sheriff for service must be valid on its face, issued by a competent authority, and accompanied by adequate legal instructions, and include an original signature.
Before the Sheriff's Office can serve processes on your behalf you must have a court order. Please be aware that only an attorney is allowed to give legal advice, not the Sheriff.
Court Services Payments
The Riverside County Sheriff's Court Services Division does not accept personal checks for civil process fees.
Pre-printed Business checks, cash, cashier's check, or money order must accompany requests for services.

About
A Sheriff’s sale is an auction of real property to satisfy an unpaid obligation. It is the means used to satisfy a money judgment out of the personal or real property of the judgment debtor, to protect the value of perishable property under levy of writ of attachment by converting it to cash, or to enforce a lien against property under foreclosure proceedings.
Prospective bidders should refer to the California Code of Civil Procedure Sections 701.510 to 701.680 for provisions governing the terms, conditions, and effect of the sale and the liability of defaulting bidders.
See Sheriff’s Sale Bidder Pre-Qualification Notice for additional information.
