Chief Deputy Zachary Hall

Born and raised in Riverside County, Chief Deputy Zachary Hall grew up in Mira Loma and graduated from Rubidoux High School in 1994. His higher education consists of a Certificate in Administration of Justice and a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership.

Chief Deputy Hall’s law enforcement career spans over 25 years with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office. Attracted to the law enforcement profession by his passion to serve, protect, and improve his community, Chief Deputy Hall joined the Sheriff’s Office in 1998. Chief Deputy Hall promoted through all the Sheriff's sworn ranks; deputy, corporal, investigator, sergeant, lieutenant, and captain.

While in these ranks, he worked as a patrol deputy, background investigator, watch commander, special teams’ supervisor, use of force expert, advanced officer trainer, contract city and county operations lieutenant, and ultimately a station commander at Southwest Station. Chief Deputy Hall has also worked as adjunct faculty for Riverside, Moreno Valley, and Palo Verde Community College districts.

Notably, Chief Deputy Hall built and supervised what is now the Sheriff’s Riverside County Anti-human Trafficking Task Force. Partly for achievements in this area, he was awarded with the Sheriff's Distinguished Service Medal. Chief Deputy Hall is also the proud recipient of the Helen and Joseph Sherwood Prize for Combating Hate for his work combatting the extremism in our communities.

While Chief Deputy Hall served as the Southwest Station Commander, he functioned as the City of Temecula Chief of Police. During his tenure at the Southwest Station, he formed the METRO and Community Outreach and Engagement (CORE) teams within the City of Temecula, resulting in improved efficiencies in community policing, quality of life issue resolution, homeless outreach, achieving an overall enhancement to public safety.

Chief Deputy Hall currently resides in La Cresta with his wife, a Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant, and their family.

On November 17, 2022, Chief Deputy Hall was appointed to his current rank by Sheriff Chad Bianco and oversees the Ben Clark Training Center, Research and Development, and the Concealed Carry Weapons (CCW) program.
