Correctional Chief Deputy Misha Graves

Sheriff Chad Bianco appointed Correctional Captain Misha Graves to the rank of Correctional Chief Deputy on December 16, 2019. Correctional Chief Graves oversees the Corrections Division’s Support Operations.  Corrections Support consists of the Coordinated Custody management Unit and the Sheriff’s programs designed to ensure compliance with inmate medical care, behavioral health services, contractual and county partnerships, and legislative requirements.

Correctional Chief Misha Graves joined the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office in 1997. She began her career as a Correctional Deputy working a variety of assignments while assigned to the Robert Presley Detention Center (RPDC).

In 2006, Correctional Chief Graves was promoted to the rank of Correctional Corporal and assigned to the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility (SCF). In 2008, she promoted to the rank of Correctional Sergeant. As a Correctional Sergeant, she served at the Indio Jail and the SCF and was assigned to all assignments of jail operations within both facilities.

In 2012, Correctional Chief Graves was promoted to the rank of Correctional Lieutenant and assigned to the Indio Jail. She was transferred, in 2014, to the Sheriff’s Planning and Research Unit where she managed the Corrections Division’s contracts, grants, inspections, and the Sheriff’s construction projects, including the design, funding, and construction of the John Benoit Detention Center (JBDC).

Correctional Chief Graves was promoted to the rank of Correctional Captain in January 2016, and was assigned to command the Coordinated Custody Management Unit (CCMU). The CCMU encompasses the Sheriff’s Inmate Training and Education Bureau (SITE-B), Riverside Alternative Sentencing Program (RASP), Supervised Electronic Confinement Program (SECP), Work Release Program (WRP), Headcount Management Unit (HMU), and leads the Sheriff's AB 109 Realignment efforts. Correctional Chief Graves also served as a Captain at the Cois Byrd Detention Center, Indio Jail, Blythe Jail, the Smith Correctional Facility, and she has served in various administrative roles throughout her tenure.

Correctional Chief Graves holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Workforce Education and Development and a Master of Science Degree in Education, Human Resources Training and Development, both from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.

Correctional Chief Graves resides in the Inland Empire with her daughter. She is actively involved with her church where she teaches and provides ministry.
