We are saddened to announce the death of Deputy Terrell Young, most recently assigned to the Cois Byrd Detention Center. Deputy Young passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2020, due to complications from COVID-19. He was the first Department member to test positive for this virus. Deputy Young began his career with our Department on December 8, 2005, and worked assignments at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility, Perris Station, Court Services, Southwest Station, and Cois Byrd Detention Center. Deputy Young is survived by his wife and four children.

On behalf of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, we extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Deputy Terrell Young.
