On Monday, April 13, 2020, at 3:58 PM, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, assigned to the city of Calimesa, responded to a report of a bank robbery at a bank located in the 1000 block of Calimesa Blvd. Employees reported the suspect, a white male, wearing a black beanie, blue facemask, and latex gloves, passed a note to a bank teller, demanding money. The note indicated the suspect was armed. Before receiving any money, the suspect fled the location on a bicycle.
The Cabazon Investigations bureau assumed the investigation and with the assistance of bank personnel were able to identify the suspect as a 16-year-old male juvenile from the city of Yucaipa. On Thursday, April 16, 2020, the suspect was taken into custody after he left his residence in a vehicle. A search warrant was served at the suspect’s residence in the 13300 block of Sidana Road, Yucaipa. During the service of the search warrant, investigators located evidence related to the crime at the residence. The juvenile suspect was booked into Juvenile Hall and charged with attempt bank robbery.
