On Friday, April 17, 2020, members of the Palo Verde Valley Rural Crime Team (PVVRCT), Colorado River Station Investigations Bureau, and Colorado River station Deputies served a stolen property search warrant in the 900 block of East Murphy Street in the City of Blythe.

The search warrant was a result of a weeklong investigation conducted by the PVVRCT and Investigations Bureau of recent burglaries in the Palo Verde Valley.

During the service of the warrant, James Childress, 40 of Blythe, was arrested for burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of an unregistered assault rifle, possession of heroin, and possession of methamphetamine. Over $2,000 in stolen tools were recovered for a local construction company.

The Palo Verde Valley Rural Crime Team is locally dedicated to serve our farming and rural communities and will fully enforce the law to protect our citizens.
