Update:

Members of the Moreno Valley Station’s Traffic Reconstruction Team continued their investigation into the collision which occurred on September 10, 2019. After an extensive effort, the case was submitted to the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office who recommended charges of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, inflicting great bodily injury in the commission of a felony and driving under the influence of drugs – causing injury. As a result, an arrest warrant was issued for the driver, Roben Gaby Noujaim, 35-year-old resident of Moreno Valley. 

On Wednesday, April 22, 2020, deputies located and arrested Noujaim. Noujaim was taken into custody without incident and was booked into Riverside County Jail on the aforementioned charges.

Details: 

On September 10, 2019, at 7:45 P.M., deputies from the Moreno Valley Station responded to a report of a major injury traffic collision at Graham Street and Old Valley Drive, in the city of Moreno Valley.

Deputies from the Moreno Valley Station, Moreno Valley Fire Department personnel and AMR Paramedics arrived within minutes and discovered a vehicle collided with a male pedestrian. The pedestrian sustained major injuries and succumbed to those injuries at the scene. The driver, Roben Noujaim, 34 of Moreno Valley was arrested for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence. 

Members of the Moreno Valley Station’s Traffic Reconstruction Team responded and investigated this collision. Vehicle traffic on Graham Street between Sunnymead Blvd and Eucalyptus Ave was closed during the investigation. This investigation is on-going and anyone with additional information regarding this incident are requested to contact Deputy D.
