Details:

On April 24, 2020, a call for service was generated for a blown electrical transformer on the 40900 block of Diana Lane, in the City of Lake Elsinore. Deputies from the Lake Elsinore Problem Oriented Policing Team determined the residence was illegally cultivating marijuana plants. Further investigation revealed the owner/operator of the cultivation site was operating two additional sites within the City of Lake Elsinore, which the Problem Oriented Policing Team was previously investigating. The investigation confirmed a residence on the 40900 block of Diana Lane, 41000 block of Crimson Pillar Lane, and 29300 block of Royal Aberdeen were illegal marijuana cultivation sites.

At the direction of Sheriff Chad Bianco, deputies served a search warrant at the above locations. As a result of the search warrant, approximately 3,735 marijuana plants in various stages of growth were located and collected. In addition, the electrical system within the homes were illegally altered causing a severe fire hazard. The homes were transformed using common building materials into illegal marijuana cultivation sites. Lake Elsinore Code Enforcement / Building and Safety deemed the residence uninhabitable. Southern California Edison responded and turned the power off due to the illegal wiring throughout the residence.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Deputy Meissen / Beaudet at the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station (951) 245-3300.

As a reminder, "Community Policing" involves partnerships between law enforcement and community members. Business owners and residents are encouraged to report criminal activity directly to law enforcement by calling Sheriff’s Dispatch at (951) 776-1099, or by calling 911 if the matter is an emergency.
