On Wednesday, May 6th, 2020, at 9:41 P.M., members of the Moreno Valley Station’s Special Enforcement Team Gang Unit conducted a traffic stop in the 24100 block of Sunnymead Blvd., in the city of Moreno Valley. Deputies contacted the driver of the vehicle, Jorge Rubio, an 18-year-old resident of Moreno Valley. Deputies determined Rubio did not possess a driver’s license. A subsequent inventory search of Rubio’s vehicle revealed a loaded .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun underneath the driver’s seat. Rubio was taken into custody and charged with being a Prohibited Person in Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, and Carrying a Concealed Loaded Firearm in a Vehicle.
