On Thursday, May 7, 2020, at 08:30 P.M., deputies from the Perris Station responded to the report of a robbery that occurred at the Stater Brothers Market located at 25904 Newport Road, in the City of Menifee. The victim advised a white male adult, later identified as Devin Moore, a 31-year-old male transient in Menifee, stole a bottle of liquor from the store and threatened to assault an employee with it when he was confronted.

Deputies responded to the area and located Moore on Newport Road. Moore ran from deputies across Newport Road and was struck by a vehicle before continuing into an adjacent field. Units were unable to locate Moore in the open field, after a lengthy search. Moore was later spotted walking out of the field by a Sheriff’s K-9 Sergeant. Moore assaulted the Sergeant with a grocery cart and ran; he was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. Moore was uninjured from the traffic collision and was booked into jail.

Anyone with additional information is urged to call the Riverside County Sheriff’s dispatch at (951) 776-1099, or the Perris Station at (951) 210-1000.
