On Saturday, May 9, 2020, Lake Elsinore Station deputies were informed of a possible past burglary in the 43000 block of Paseo Espinazo, located in La Cresta. Deputies contacted the vacationing homeowners, who verified the residence and garage were burglarized. The homeowners verified two Harley Davidson motorcycles, a Lexus SUV, a 1970 Toyota FJ Land Cruiser, a trailer, and several high-end appliances and household items were stolen.

As deputies initiated the investigation, a possible suspect address was obtained where the above stolen items were being stored. With the assistance of the Lake Elsinore Station Investigations Bureau a search warrant was granted.

On Sunday, May 10, 2020, the search warrant was served in the 40000 block of Vista Murrieta, in the city of Murrieta. Approximately $300k in stolen property was recovered. Manuel Gutierrez, a 27-year-old from the city of Murrieta, and Christina Ernest, a 27-year-old female from the city of Murrieta, were found to be in possession of the stolen items. Both suspects were arrested at the scene without incident and were booked at the Robert Pressley Detention Center.
