On Wednesday, May 13, 2020, personnel from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, California Water Board, Environmental Health and Riverside County Code Enforcement served ten marijuana cultivation related search warrants in the unincorporated county areas of Anza. During the service, approximately 9970 plants were eradicated and 298 pounds of processed marijuana was collected, for a total combined weight of approximately two tons. Four firearms, (two rifles and two handguns), and approximately $1500 in currency were collected for evidence. Several containers of toxic pesticides, including Carbofuran, that have been banned in the United States for endangering domestic animals and wildlife and are known hazards to the water table were located at two of the locations.

The following suspects were arrested for Marijuana Cultivation:

  • 57-year-old El Monte resident Yumei Zhu
  • 43-year-old Anza resident Savon Sam Ouk
  • 47-year-old Lowell, Massachusetts resident Ravy Ray Ton
  • 56-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada resident Ouch Mom Chuon
  • 65-year-old Stockton resident Soeng Lim (Charges filed out of custody)
  • 64-year-old Anza resident Ronnie Lynn Bell (Charges filed out of custody)
  • 89-year-old Anza resident Thomas Toombs (Charges filed out of custody)
  • 51-year-old Anza resident Jimmy Boon Souksavath
  • 68-year-old Redding resident Thong Dam Philakham
