On May 15, 2020, at approximately 11:00 p.m., deputies assigned to Riverside Sheriff’s Department S.T.R.E.E.T were investigating reports of vehicles racing in the city of Jurupa Valley. Deputies observed a blue Cadillac CTS travelling at a high rate of speed and appeared to be attempting to engage another vehicle in an illegal street race. Deputies stopped the Cadillac and had the driver exit the vehicle, at which point evidence of illegal narcotics possession was observed.

A search of the Cadillac was conducted by the deputies who located substantial amounts of cocaine, marijuana, mushrooms, prescription medications, ecstasy, methamphetamine, paraphernalia consistent with sales of illegal narcotics, as well as several thousands of dollars in U.S. currency. All the above items were collected as evidence and the driver was placed under arrest without incident.

The driver of the Cadillac, Ulices Verdin, male Hispanic, 19, resident of Jurupa Valley, was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center on multiple charges related to the possession and sales of illegal narcotics and controlled substances. The case will be referred to the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution

Anyone with information pertaining to locations in your area where this type of illegal activity is taking place, or with any information pertaining to illegal street racing, sideshows, or planned street take overs is encouraged to contact Sergeant Dan Ponder at the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station (951) 955-2600 or at Riverside Sheriff’s Dispatch (951) 776-1099.
