Details: 

On May 19, 2020, about 1154 hours, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Perris Station were dispatched to the 30900 block of Epiplaneia Way, Winchester, regarding a stolen light tower at the location. The owner of the light tower found it and alerted deputies to its location.

Upon arriving at the location, deputies detained the following people on the property:

Fernando Orozco Salgado, 31-year-old resident of Winchester. 

Lionel Orozco, 27-year-old residence of Winchester.

Ranferi Barreto, 29-year-old resident of Winchester.

Saul Barreto Orozco, 22-year-old resident of Winchester. 

Deputies also discovered a large illegal marijuana grow on the property consisting of over 2,500 marijuana plants in various stages of growth. During the investigation, deputies discovered the light was being used to assist with powering the residence on the property and providing electricity to the illegal marijuana grow. Deputies recovered the stolen light tower. At the direction of Sheriff Chad Bianco, deputies eradicated the marijuana plants from the property.

All suspects detained were subsequently arrested for possession of stolen property and illegal marijuana cultivation. The suspects were cited and released out of custudy. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is encouraged to contact Deputy Robbie Macalino at 951-210-1000.
