On Thursday, June 11, 2020, about 11:46 PM, deputies from the Moreno Valley Station responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of Pigeon Pass Road and Ironwood Avenue in the City of Moreno Valley.  Upon arrival, deputies located a pickup truck with two occupants trapped inside it.  Deputies and an off-duty emergency medical technician began rendering medical aid to the occupants of the pickup truck.  Minutes later, paramedics from the Moreno Valley Fire Department and American Medical Response arrived on-scene and began advanced life support measures as well.  Both occupants were transported to a local hospital where the female passenger succumbed to her injuries.  The identity of the female victim is not being released at this time pending next of kin notification.

Members of the Moreno Valley Station’s Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.  The intersection of Pigeon Pass Rd. and Ironwood Ave. was closed for the investigation for approximately three hours.
