Details:
On Thursday, June 18, 2020, at 9:00 pm, deputies assigned to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department-Robert Presley Detention Center were called to the cell of an unresponsive male adult inmate. Custody staff and jail medical staff administered life-saving measures and the inmate was transported, via ambulance, to a local hospital for continued medical attention. The inmate never recovered and was pronounced deceased a short while later at the hospital.
Riverside Sheriff’s Department investigators responded and assumed the investigation. The cause of death will later be determined by the Coroner’s Bureau. The identification of the victim will not be released at this time pending notification to the family. There are no signs of foul play and due to the ongoing status of the investigation, no further information is available at this time.
