Temecula, CA, Calif. – On Tuesday, August 25th, 2020, about 10:35 p.m., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Southwest Station, responded to Pauba Road, east of Margarita Road, regarding a major traffic collision involving two vehicles. Deputies and medical personnel arrived within minutes and located an unresponsive victim inside her vehicle. One victim was treated for a complaint of pain and released from the scene. The additional victim succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a white Mercedes Benz was traveling eastbound on Pauba Road when it drove into oncoming traffic. The white Mercedes Benz collided head-on with a blue Subaru Forester. The identification of the decedent is being withheld pending Coroner’s notification of the next of kin.
The Southwest Station Traffic Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. During the investigation, Pauba Road was closed between Via Cerda and Linfield Way for several hours.
