City of Norco, California- On Wednesday, September 16, 2020, around 1:03 AM , deputies responded to the gas station and convenience store located in the 3100 block of Hamner Ave, Norco, in reference to an armed robbery. Employees reported that a male suspect entered the business, displayed a firearm, and demanded money from the cash register. Once the suspect received the money, he fled the location on foot. Deputies canvased the area and were unable to locate the suspect. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of currency.

Deputies from the Norco Special Enforcement Team were assigned the investigation. After canvasing local businesses and retrieving video surveillance footage, deputies were able to identify a suspect and vehicle associated with the robbery.

On Friday, September 18, 2020 at 5:42 PM, officers from the Barstow Police Department received an Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) hit of the vehicle used in the robbery. Barstow Police responded to the area and located the vehicle occupied. After attempting to conduct an enforcement stop of the vehicle a pursuit ensued. The vehicle lost control and crashed into a curb disabling it. The driver fled from the vehicle on foot and was immediately taken into custody.

Deputies from the Norco Special Enforcement Team responded to Barstow. After a search warrant was obtained for the suspect’s vehicle, deputies located a loaded 9mm Tec-9 assault pistol, specific clothing items, and a backpack used by the suspect in the robbery. The suspect was taken into custody by Barstow Police and positively identified as the suspect in the robbery, Dominique Isiah Harris, a 32-year old resident of Barstow.

Deputies took Harris into custody and transported him to the Robert Presley Detention Center and booked for Robbery, Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of an Assault Weapon, and Possession of Ammunition by a Felon.
