On Sunday, October 11, 2020, at 2:57 A.M., members of the Moreno Valley Station’s Special Enforcement Team conducted an occupied vehicle check in the 24000 block of Sunnymead Boulevard, in the city of Moreno Valley. Deputies contacted, Michael Winns, a 29-year-old resident of Moreno Valley and documented criminal street gang member. Winns gave deputies consent to search his vehicle.  A subsequent search of Winns’ vehicle revealed a loaded semi-automatic handgun underneath the driver’s seat. 

Winns was taken into custody and charged with Possession of a Concealed Firearm in a vehicle, Possession of a Loaded Firearm in Public, and Possession of an Unregistered Firearm. Winns was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center.
