Details:

On October 15, 2020, at 10:51 AM, Deputies assigned to the Hemet Sheriff’s Station responded the 40000 block of Clark Dr. regarding a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. On arrival, deputies contacted an adult male who had sustained single gunshot wound. The male victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries. The suspect was not at the location when the deputies arrived and was last seen leaving the area in a black pickup truck. Responding deputies found a black pickup truck in the area being driven by a single male occupant matching the suspect’s description. When the suspect failed to stop for  responding deputies, a vehicle pursuit began. At the conclusion of the pursuit, the suspect displayed a firearm and fired one round causing a self inflicted gunshot wound. A firearm was recovered at the scene. Deputies contacted the suspect and rendered medical aid until relieved by American Medical Response (AMR) and Cal. Fire personnel. The suspect was then transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. This incident is currently being investigated and the suspect’s identity is not being released at this time. No Deputies were injured during this incident. There are no outstanding suspects and there is no danger to the public.  

Investigators from the Hemet Sheriff Station and the Force Investigations Detail responded and assumed the investigation. This is an active and on-going investigation with no further details available at this time.
