Details: 

On Wednesday, October 15, 2020, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Investigations Bureau, with the assistance of Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station personnel, and the California Highway Patrol, served a marijuana cultivation related search warrant in the unincorporated area of Thousand Palms. During the service, 4,714 marijuana plants were eradicated, and 50 pounds of processed marijuana was collected, for a combined weight of approximately a quarter of a ton. Additionally, 5.5 pounds of methamphetamine, amphetamine and Xanax pills, and two loaded firearms were seized.

The following suspect was arrested for marijuana cultivation, possession of methamphetamine for sales, possession of stolen property, and firearm violations:

  • 39-year-old Thousand Palms resident Alexander Petricevic

The following suspect was arrested for possession of a narcotic, and firearm violations:

  • 21-year-old San Bernardino resident Anthony Guebara

Marijuana cultivation negatively impacts the environment in many ways including diminishing and poisoning the water table and pesticides adversely affecting the health of neighboring residents.
