On 09/17/19 at 9:21 PM, task force officers (TFO) from the Hemet/San Jacinto Valley Gang Task Force conducted a vehicle stop in the 2200 block of W. Acacia Ave. in the city of Hemet. During the contact TFOs learned that the driver, Richard Berry, was on Formal Probation out of Riverside County. During the search of the vehicle, TFOs found illegal weapons in Berry’s vehicle in violation of his probation conditions. Berry was taken into custody.


TFOs then conducted a probation search at Berry’s residence located in the Villa Del Sol Mobile Estates. During the search, TFOs located possible explosive devices and requested the assistance of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department- Hazardous Device Team (HDT.) HDT deputies collected the components of incendiary devices for proper storage/disposal. TFOs were able to continue the probation search and located additional weapons, ammunition, and drugs.

11364 H&S- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
