On Thursday, October 22nd, 2020, at 9:45 A.M. the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force with the assistance of the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team served a search warrant at an apartment located in the 47000 block of Dune Palms Road.  The warrant stemmed from an ongoing investigation related to cell phone videos posted to social media platforms depicting documented criminal street gang members and juveniles with firearms.

During the service of the search warrant, Gang Task Force Officers located various items of gang indicia.  Gang Task Force Officers arrested documented criminal street gang member, David Moreno, 19 of La Quinta for Felony Child Endangerment after identifying Moreno in a cell phone video depicting Moreno pointing a loaded handgun at a minor then furnishing the loaded handgun to a minor for the minor to display the gun on camera.

Gang Task Force Officers previously served a search warrant at the same apartment in the 47000 block of Dune Palms Road in La Quinta on September 26th, 2020 during which time they located an AR-15 Rifle, a 12-gauge Shotgun, a 9mm Semi-Auto Handgun, and a .22 Caliber Semi-Auto Handgun.  Also located at that time were various items of gang indicia.

Moreno was subsequently booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
