Details:

On Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 8:20 PM, members of the Perris-Lake Elsinore Regional Gang Task Force conducted a traffic enforcement stop for a vehicle code violation in the 27000 block of Encanto Drive in the city of Menifee. A records check of the driver, 32-year-old San Bernardino resident Lee Flaherty, revealed he was on Post-Release Community Supervision (PRCS) and a documented criminal street gang member. During a search of Flaherty’s vehicle pursuant to his search conditions, task force officers located a loaded handgun and ammunition concealed within the vehicle.

During the investigation, Flaherty became uncooperative and unresponsive. Flaherty was transported to a local hospital for medical clearance prior to booking. While at the hospital, task force officers discovered cocaine and ecstasy pills hidden on Flaherty’s person. The ecstasy pills were colored shaped and similar to kid’s Lego bricks. Task force officers determined the drugs were indicative of narcotic sales. Flaherty was booked at the Cois Bryd Detention Center and charged with the following:

  • Felon in possession of a loaded firearm with drugs

  • Felon in possession of ammunition

  • Possession and sales of cocaine

  • Possession and sales of ecstasy

  • Prior Prison Terms

  • Violation of Probation
