Details:

On December 16, 2020, at 8:05 AM, Moreno Valley Station deputies were dispatched to the 11000 block of Mathews Rd. city of Moreno Valley, regarding a robbery at gunpoint.  The victim was at the location to sell the suspect items using the OfferUp application.  When the victim presented the items for sale, the suspect pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at the victim.  The suspect forcefully removed property from the victim and fired one round directly at the victim.  After shooting at the victim, the suspect fled the area in a dark red Sport Utility Vehicle.  Deputies canvassed the area but did not locate the suspect or suspect vehicle.  Members of the Moreno Valley Station Robbery Burglary Suppression Team (RBST) immediately began working the case and collecting items of evidentiary value.

Through assistance from the public, as well as the Moreno Valley Citywide Camera System, the suspect was identified as Lata Aeau (20) of Moreno Valley.  On December 23, 2020, RBST members served a search warrant at Aeau’s residence located in the 12000 block of Barnes Ct., city of Moreno Valley.  Several items related to the robbery were located and Aeau was taken into custody without incident.  Additionally, Onosai Tavui (34) and Anzac Aeau (21) both from the city of Moreno Valley were located at the residence and arrested for several outstanding felony warrants.  Aeau, Tavui and A. Aeau were later booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center.  RBST would like to remind the public that the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station has a dedicated safe exchange location in the parking lot of the station.  This spot should be utilized for all safe exchanges.  Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Moreno Valley Station RBST Deputy Ryan Morgan at 951-486-6700.
