On Friday, February 19, 2021, Traffic Deputies from the Palm Desert Station focused their attention on the city of Indian Wells. After receiving numerous complaints from the residents about the high number of speeding motorists, coupled with an uptick in speed related collisions, an enforcement operation was developed to maintain and enhance the safety of the residents and visitors of Indian Wells. The operation ran from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm on Friday. 5 deputies were assigned to the operation, each one given a specific location to conduct enforcement. At the end of the 4-hour operation 47 citations had been issued, 38 of them for speeding.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department would like to remind everyone that speed is the number one factor in most traffic collisions. Please don’t be in a rush when driving, and don’t hesitate to report unsafe drivers.
