On Friday March 29, 2019, about 7:00 PM, members of the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force, Region-7, investigated a shooting that occurred in the 5000 block of Troth St. in Jurupa Valley. No one was struck or injured during the shooting. After a lengthy investigation, Task Force Officers determined the shooting was gang related and identified 24-year-old Jurupa Valley resident, Alvaro Lopez-Chacon, as the person responsible for the shooting. Lopez-Chacon was identified as being a member of an active criminal street gang. During a follow-up investigation, Task Force Officers learned Lopez-Chacon was also responsible for several other gang related shootings that occurred within the Jurupa Valley area within the last several months. An arrest warrant was obtained for Lopez-Chacon’s arrest related to each shooting.

On Friday May 03, 2019, Lopez-Chacon was arrested in the City of Riverside for his arrest warrant and an unrelated offense. Lopez-Chacon was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for the listed charges.
