Deputy-Caged hawksOn Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021, at 12:00 P.M. The Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force with the assistance of the Riverside Auto Theft Interdiction Detail (RAID) and California Department of Fish and Wildlife, served search warrants at a residence in the 50000 block of Goya Drive in Coachella and at a Ranch near Dillon Road and Vista Del Norte in Coachella. During the service of the search warrants Gang Task Force Officers located several stolen vehicles including a Ford F-750 Water Truck, Toy Hauler, Trailer, Honda All Terrain Vehicle, John Deere Gator and a Ditch Witch which had previously been stolen from a local Home Depot. RAID Officers on scene recovered the stolen vehicles and equipment.

Gang Task Force Officers located two loaded 9mm semi-auto handguns concealed inside parked vehicles on the properties. The guns were determined to be illegally possessed and non-serialized (Ghost Guns). Gang Task Force Officers also located three Red-Tailed Hawks being held in a small cage in the backyard of the residence on Goya Drive. The birds of prey appeared to be living in substandard conditions while being confined to the small cage and being fed a diet of hotdogs and lunch meat. Gang Task Force turned the Red-Tailed Hawks over to California Department of Fish and Wildlife for relocation to a rehabilitation center for wild birds.

Gang Task Force Officers arrested Eduardo Pantaleon Sr., 48 of Coachella for Possession of Stolen Vehicles, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Birds of Prey and Felony Animal Cruelty. Gang Task Force Officers arrested Eduardo Pantaleon Jr. , 18 of Coachella for Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm. Gang Task Force Officers arrested Andrew Ochoa, 41 of Coachella for Possession of Stolen Vehicles, and an Outstanding Arrest Warrant for Possession of Narcotics for Sales. All three subjects were booked at John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.Two Handguns
