Details:

On June 24, 2021 at 6:00 A.M, members of the Southern Coachella Valley Community Service District Team (SCVCSDT) and the Coachella Community Action Team (CCAT) with the assistance of the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team (SET) served a search warrant at two residences in the 69-600 block of Filmore Street, Thermal and the 66-900 block of Martinez Road, Thermal. The search warrant stemmed from a firearm brandishing investigation.

Rifle-3 Handguns-Drug Paraphernalia-Ammunition

During the service of the search warrant, firearms, ammunition, approximately 9.45 pounds of processed cannabis, methamphetamine, and narcotic sales indicia were located. A stolen vehicle was also recovered at one of the locations. Malcom Morreo, 38 of Thermal, was arrested for brandishing a firearm, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and violation of felony probation. Documented criminal street gang member Maria Muniz, 38 of Thermal, was arrested for witness intimidation, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, convicted felon in possession of ammunition, possession of an unregistered firearm, possession of marijuana for sale, and possession of a stolen vehicle. Jose Alba, 33 of Thermal, was arrested for possession of marijuana for sale, possession of an unregistered firearm, and possession of a stolen vehicle. Christe Valdivia, 34 of Thermal, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, and a felony weapons possession warrant. All four subjects were booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in the city of Indio.
