Details:

On July 7, 2021, at 7:55 PM, Gang Task Force Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of West Ramsey Street in the City of Banning. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Vincent Hernandez, a nineteen year old resident from the City of San Bernardino. It was discovered Hernandez was operating the vehicle without a driver’s license and was detained. During a search of Hernandez’s vehicle, Gang Task Force Officers located a loaded handgun underneath Hernandez's seat. It was also discovered the handgun was un-registered.

Hernandez was placed under arrest and booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility for the following charges.

  • Felony Possession of Firearm
  • Possession of an Un-Registered Firearm

The Riverside County Gang Task Force is a collaborative effort of several law enforcement agencies with the goal of combating criminal street gangs. The San Gorgonio Special Operations Regional Gang Task Force is one of six teams which compose the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force. The San Gorgonio Special Operations Gang Task Force is staffed with members from the Banning Police Department, Beaumont Police Department and Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
