On Wednesday, July 14th, 2021, at 8:09 P.M., members of the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force Region 6 Perris / Lake Elsinore conducted a vehicle check in the 300 block of F Street, in the city of Perris. Deputies contacted Christian Serrano, a 42-year-old resident of Perris. Serrano advised he was on probation for violating a restraining order. A subsequent search of Serrano’s vehicle revealed a firearm magazine containing (6) live 9mm cartridges, (10) live 16-gauge shotgun shells, numerous shaved keys, and (2) Balisong knives.

At 9:15 P.M., deputies transported Serrano to his residence located in the 21000 block of Headly Street, in the unincorporated area of Riverside County, known as Mead Valley, reference a probation search. Deputies contacted Christian Serrano’s brother, Andres Serrano, a 40-year-old resident of Perris. Deputies discovered Andres Serrano was on Post Release Community Supervision for a narcotics related offense. Andres Serrano advised deputies he resides in a trailer located on the Headly Street property.

A search of Andres Serrano’s trailer revealed a short-barreled shotgun loaded with (4) live 12-gauge shotgun shells, (3) live 30 Carbine cartridges, a small quantity of methamphetamine, and narcotics paraphernalia. A search of Christian Serrano’s residence did not yield any additional illicit items.

Christian Serrano was taken into custody and charged with Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Probation Violation, and Possession of a Switchblade. Andres Serrano was taken into custody and charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Short-barreled Shotgun, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Controlled Substance While Armed, and Post Release Community Supervision Violation. Christian and Andres Serrano were booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center.
