On Friday, July 23rd, 2021, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department – Perris Station Special Enforcement Team and Southwest Corridor Task Force served a search warrant at a residence in the 500 block of Shawnee Road and two nearby lots within the City of Perris. The search warrant was a result of an ongoing narcotics investigation.

At the residence, deputies contacted and detained 28-year-old, Eduardo Javier Alvarez Villegas and 31-year old Emma Villasenor Aguilar. Both are residents of the City of Perris. A loaded 9mm handgun and approximately 35 pounds of processed marijuana were in the master bedroom, accessible to and occupied by three children under six years old. Child Protective Services was notified. The children were later released to a family member from the scene.

Eduardo and Emma were arrested and later booked at the Cois M. Byrd Detention Center, each for 2 counts of misdemeanor marijuana charges and 1 count of felony child endangerment charges.

Collectively, during the warrant service, deputies located as evidence 702 marijuana plants in various stages of growth, appx 100 pounds of processed marijuana, two loaded 9mm handguns, loose 9mm ammunition, two cellphones and $1000 U.S. cash. The marijuana plants were eradicated.
