The Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force (CVVCGTF) is currently conducting an Arson investigation into two fires that occurred on July 4th, 2021 and July 10th, 2021 in Indio. Two separate fires were set at the construction site of a new AMPM gas station and car wash located at 81933 Indio Blvd., in Indio. During the second fire just days later, the gas station portion of the project was set ablaze and was also a total loss. The project was approximately 90% complete at the time of the first fire. It is believed that the two arsons are related.
