Details:

On August 4, 2021, at 10:01 p.m., deputies from the Jurupa Valley Sheriff Station responded to the 5000 block of El Palomino Dr., Jurupa Valley, regarding a report of assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, deputies located one female gunshot wound victim deceased. Deputies also detained the suspect who was still at the scene. The suspect was identified as James Paul Lopez Jr., 25 years of Jurupa Valley. Deputies secured the area as a crime scene. The Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.

The deceased female victim was identified as Roberta Lopez, 68 years of Jurupa Valley. The investigation is currently on-going and no further information will be released at this time.
