Update:

During the course of this investigation, personnel from the Hemet Station Investigations Bureau conducted surveillance and follow-up regarding the identity of the suspect. They received information the suspect involved in the assaults was Luis Perales, a 23-year-old resident of Hemet. After further investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Perales, who was arrested at his place of employment. He was booked into the county jail for several counts of sexual assault.

Details:

On Wednesday, August 25th, 2021, personnel from the Hemet Station conducted a follow up investigation to a series of sexual assaults that have occurred within the last five months. In each of the incidents, the victim was walking on a walk path that travels east and west on Esplanade Avenue between Villines and Arroyo Viejo in the City of San Jacinto. In each of the incidents, the suspect, a Hispanic male adult, in his early 30’s, about 5’8”, heavy set, with facial hair and wearing a grey and black sweatshirt with grey pants sexually assaulted the victims while on their morning walks. The suspect after each of the assaults would run into the neighborhood south of Esplanade.

A composite sketch was done of the male. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the publics assistance in identifying this male. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department has a zero-tolerance policy for these offenses. If you suspect you know the male depicted, please contact your local Sheriff’s Station.
