Details:

Lake Elsinore, Calif. – On November 10, 2021, the Riverside County Sheriff Department – Lake Elsinore Station, participated in a joint agency traffic operation with Menifee Police Department, Hemet Police Department, Murrieta Police Department, and the California Highway Patrol. The operation ran from 7:00a.m. to 11:00a.m.

The Menifee Police Department organized the operation to help combat the growing number of major injury and fatal traffic collisions which occur on the main thoroughfare from Hemet through Lake Elsinore to the 15 Freeway. The goal of the operation was to educate motorists and residents of the region that unsafe driving habits will not be tolerated and to help prevent traffic collisions.

To complete this goal, high visibility enforcement was conducted throughout the cities of Hemet, Winchester, Menifee, Canyon Lake, and Lake Elsinore.

Motorcycle enforcement officers conducted almost 60 traffic enforcement stops on Railroad Canyon Road from Canyon Lake to the 15 Freeway in Lake Elsinore. Several vehicles were impounded for drivers having suspended drivers’ licenses and several arrest warrants were served. During the operation on Railroad Canyon Road, there were no reported traffic collisions, showing the operation was successful in combating collisions.

The Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station plans to continue these type of enforcement operations to help combat traffic collisions and to educate the motoring public that unsafe driving habits will not be tolerated. The goal is to reduce the number of collisions that not only impact the area, but also impact the people involved in them.
