Details:

On Friday, November 5, 2021, at approximately 4:46 P.M, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Lake Elsinore Station, responded to the report of a robbery in the 3000 block of Lake Crest Drive in the City of Lake Elsinore. During the investigation, deputies learned the victim was attempting to sell jewelry via OfferUp (buying and selling application) and had met with an unknown suspect in front of his residence. During the transaction, the unknown suspect produced a firearm, pointed it at the victim, and demanded the jewelry. The suspect fled in a white sedan with the victim’s jewelry. 

The Murrieta/Temecula Regional Gang Task Force assumed the investigation. While conducting the investigation, Christian Gutierrez, a 20-year-old resident of Perris, was identified as the suspect involved in the robbery. 

On December 16, 2021, at approximately 11:00 A.M, with the assistance of Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Southwest Station Special Enforcement Team (SET), Gang Task Force Officers located Gutierrez in the area of Goetz and Ellis. Task Force Officers attempted to contact and arrest Gutierrez, when he fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, Gutierrez was apprehended without further incident. He was booked into the county jail for the robbery and resisting arrest.
