On Tuesday, October 9, 2019, at 10:00 A.M. the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force with the assistance of Riverside County Sheriff’s Department SWAT served a search warrant at a residence in the 51000 block of Calle Avila in the City of Coachella.  The search warrant stemmed from an investigation into a series of armed robberies that occurred in the City of Coachella between August and October of 2019.  Gang Task Force Officers identified documented gang member, Brian Jamand, 23 of Coachella as being a suspect in the robberies.  Jamand was apprehended during the service of the search warrant.  Gang Task Force Officers seized a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun and heroin from the residence.  Additionally, a seventeen-year-old juvenile was arrested at the residence.  Brian Jamand was charged with multiple counts of Armed Robbery and booked at the Indio Jail.  The seventeen-year-old juvenile was charged with Possession of Narcotics with a Loaded Firearm and booked at Juvenile Hall in Indio.
