Details:

On Thursday, May 5, 2022, about 1:22 AM, deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of Mission Boulevard east of Pedley Road, Jurupa Valley, regarding a major-injury traffic collision. When deputies arrived, they found an unresponsive adult male pedestrian in the roadway. The pedestrian appeared to have been hit by a vehicle. The pedestrian ultimately succumbed to injuries sustained during the collision at the scene. The vehicle that struck him fled the scene and has not been located. 

The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The cause of the collision is still under investigation and the identity of the pedestrian will not be released at this time, pending notification to the next of kin.

The collision investigation required the temporary closure of Mission Boulevard, between Pedley Road and Agate Street in order to process the scene and collect evidence.
