On Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022, at 7:44 P.M., members of the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force Region 6 Perris / Lake Elsinore conducted a vehicle stop in the 200 block of Indian Hills Circle, in the city of Perris. Deputies contacted Amanda Rico, a 33-year-old resident of Perris and Richard Rodriguez, a 23-year-old resident of Perris. Deputies discovered Rico was a convicted felon and operating her vehicle without a driver’s license. Deputies also discovered Rodriguez was on parole. Deputies requested Rico and Rodriguez exit the vehicle and they complied. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a loaded 9mm firearm.

Rico was taken into custody and charged with Felon in Possession of Firearm and Felon in Possession of Ammunition. Rodriguez was taken into custody and charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, and Violation of Parole. Rico and Rodriguez were booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center.
