On August 25, 2022, at 1:20 P.M., members of the Coachella Community Action Team (CCAT), with the assistance of the Southern Coachella Valley Community Service District Team (SCVCSDT), served a search warrant at a residence located in the 52–700 block of Avenida Ramirez in the city of La Quinta.
The search warrant stemmed from an investigation into a series of commercial burglaries in the city of Coachella. During the search warrant, the suspect Ricardo Gonzalez Barba, a 31-year-old resident of La Quinta, was taken into custody. Items used during the burglary were located along with a bullet proof vest and ammunition. Barba was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center for burglary, grand theft, felon in possession of a bullet proof vest, and felon in possession of ammunition.
