On September 22, 2022, at 5:19 PM a shooting occurred in the area of Frederick Street and Sunnymead Boulevard in Moreno Valley. The Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team/Gang Unit assumed this investigation and identified the shooter as Luis Duran Villalobos, a 34-year-old resident of Moreno Valley.

On October 6, 2022, deputies assigned to the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team/Gang Unit located Villalobos at his residence in the 12700 block of Frederick Street in Moreno Valley and a search warrant was authored and executed. Villalobos was taken into custody without incident and a firearm was located inside the residence. Villalobos was booked into custody at the Robert Presley Detention Center.
