On January 9, 2023, Southwest Station deputies responded to the 33000 block of Sidney Circle in the unincorporated area of Riverside County known as Winchester, reference a 75-year-old male who had gone missing. The investigation revealed he left his home at approximately 4:00 PM and never returned. A Riverside County Sheriff’s Department helicopter, bloodhound, several deputies, and citizens who lived in the area conducted an extensive search for the male that evening but were unable to locate him. The Southwest Station’s Investigation Bureau was called out to assist with the investigation and search.

Investigators continued with the investigation on the morning of January 10 following up on all leads. Investigators and deputies conducted an additional extensive search of the surrounding area but were still unable to locate the male. His reason for disappearance is still under investigation.

The missing elderly male is Richard Young. He is approximately 5’3” tall, 130 pounds, black hair, brown eyes, and was last seen wearing an unknown type of hat, black sweatshirt, blue jeans, and possibly black shoes.
