On Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 3:24 p.m., deputies assigned to the Cabazon Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 52000 block of Riza Avenue, Cabazon. Upon arrival, deputies found a male inside a trailer, unresponsive and suffering from life-threatening injuries. Deputies attempted life-saving measures, but the victim succumbed to his injuries. Deputies secured the area and subsequently detained a male subject seen fleeing the location of the incident.
Investigators from the Central Homicide Unit and Cabazon Station responded to assume the investigation. The decedent’s identity is being withheld pending the notification to the next of kin.
