On Saturday, May 20, 2023, at approximately 12:49 am, deputies from the Lake Mathews Sheriff Station responded to the 17900 block of Van Buren Blvd in the unincorporated area of Riverside commonly known as Woodcrest regarding a shooting that just occurred. Upon arriving at the location, deputies located two adult males suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Deputies rendered immediate aid to the victims until emergency medical services arrived. The victims were subsequently transported to local hospitals for treatment and are listed in stable condition.
Investigators from Lake Mathews Sheriff’s Station arrived and assumed the investigation which revealed an altercation occurred outside of the business in the parking lot involving several people which led to the gunfire.
