On Thursday, June 1, 2023, at approximately 4:18 pm, deputies from the Lake Mathews Sheriff Station responded to the Prado Dam in the unincorporated area of Corona regarding an emergency landing of a small airplane. Upon arriving at the location, deputies located a single engine aircraft with minor damage. The pilot and passenger aboard the aircraft were not injured during the incident. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have assumed the investigation and are the primary investigative agency into the details of the incident.
