On November 8, 2019, a minor female contacted deputies to report a sexual assault at her church.  Deputies learned that Sean Ortiz, a 51-year old Jurupa Valley resident and Lead Pastor at New Beginnings Community Church in the city of Jurupa Valley, sexually assaulted a minor female parishioner at the church on at least two separate occasions. Ortiz was located at his residence and arrested.  He was subsequently booked into Robert Presley Detention Center for sexual assault related charges.  

This investigation is on-going.  Investigators are asking any additional victims to come forward.  If you have information related to this incident, or believe you, or someone you know, may have been victimized, please contact investigators at the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station by calling (951) 955-2600.
