On Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 9:30 a.m., the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force, with the assistance of Riverside County Gang Task Force Region 2, served a search warrant at a residence located in the 67000 block of Verona Road in Cathedral City. During the service of the search warrant Gang Task Force Officers located a 9mm semi-auto handgun and .40 caliber semi-auto handgun. The .40 caliber handgun was previously reported as stolen. Gang Task Force Officers arrested convicted felon, Javier Estrada Jr. , 29 of Cathedral City for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Unregistered Firearm, Committing a Felony While on Bail, and Violation of PRCS (Supervised Release). Gang Task Force Officers also arrested Sarah Gaffney, 35 of Cathedral City for Possession of Fentanyl. Both Estrada Jr. and Gaffney were booked at John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
