On October 18, 2023, members of the Riverside Sheriff’s Palm Desert Station, assisted by the Los Angeles Retail Crime Task Force, California Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation, and the Office of Correctional Safety Fugitive Team, served four residential search warrants within the County of Los Angeles.
The search warrants stemmed from an extensive investigation into a robbery that occurred on October 5, 2023, resulting in a significant loss of high-value merchandise from a business in Palm Desert.
During the investigation, members of the Riverside Sheriff’s Office developed leads and located evidence that helped identify the suspects associated with the robbery and two residential burglaries. As a result, 24-year-old- Reymundo Garcia and 21-year-old Mason Barron, both residents of Los Angeles, along with 19-year-old Byron Lee, a resident of Compton, were arrested and booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio for robbery and burglary.
