The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is pleased to announce that at today December 19th at 3:30 p.m., phone service at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility were fully restored, following a temporary outage that began on Thursday, December 14th.
The outage, caused by a widespread power failure impacting both the facility and the surrounding area of Banning, disrupted phone lines for incarcerated individuals, limiting their ability to communicate with friends and family.
Our dedicated team worked diligently with our service providers to identify and resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Incarcerated individuals can once again connect with their friends and loved ones. We understand the importance of maintaining these connections, and we appreciate the patience and understanding of those impacted during this time.
